Estimating Report
Sydney PrePurchase consultants can inspect and prepare a cost estimate report for any repair, renovation, or building work.
Our building consultants can prepare a cost estimate report on any renovation, building or repair work.
Pre-purchase building reports should not contain cost estimates for the rectification of defects found during a pre-purchase building inspection for several reasons:
The Australian Standard for pre-purchase inspections specifically recommends against the practice.
Repairs and remedial work can be notoriously difficult to price without further detailed investigation.
Most properties contain defects and receiving a report loaded with significant cost items can frighten the buyer off the house when in fact the property was perfectly suited for that buyer. Other similar properties will contain similar defects.
The real cost of an item of work is determined by the tradespeople that are prepared to do the job. This can mean quotes will vary by as much as 100%-200% for small or difficult jobs.
This is why it is necessary to prepare a special purpose document when accurate or detailed costings are required for items of building work.
Our experienced building consultants can provide itemised cost estimates based on industry unit prices and building trade experience.
